Product Introduction
Scaffolding is a working platform erected to ensure the smooth progress of various construction processes. According to the location of erection, it is divided into external scaffolding and internal scaffolding. According to different materials, it can be classified into wooden scaffolding, bamboo scaffolding and steel pipe scaffolding. According to their structural forms, they can be classified into vertical pole scaffolding, bridge scaffolding, portal scaffolding, suspended scaffolding, hanging scaffolding, cantilever scaffolding and climbing scaffolding.
Different types of construction projects require scaffolding for different purposes. Most bridge support frames use bowl buckle scaffolding, and there are also some that use portal scaffolding. For the ground scaffolding of the main structure construction, coupler scaffolding is mostly used. The longitudinal distance between the vertical rods of the scaffolding is generally 1.2 to 1.8 meters. The horizontal spacing is generally 0.9 to 1.5 meters.
Compared with general structures, the working conditions of scaffolding have the following characteristics:
1. The variability of the load it bears is relatively large;
2. The connection nodes of the fasteners are semi-rigid, and the rigidity of the nodes is related to the quality of the fasteners and the installation quality, resulting in significant variations in the performance of the nodes.
3. The scaffolding structure and components have initial defects, such as the initial bending and rusting of the members, large dimensional errors during erection, and eccentric loading, etc.
4. The connection points with the wall have a relatively large variation in the binding force on the scaffolding. The research on the above issues lacks systematic accumulation and statistical data, and does not have the conditions for independent probability analysis. Therefore, the value of the adjustment coefficient less than 1 multiplied by the structural resistance is determined by calibrating it with the safety factor used in the past. Therefore, the design method adopted in this specification is essentially semi-probabilistic and semi-empirical. Meeting the structural requirements stipulated in this specification is the basic condition for the design and calculation of scaffolding.Product Parameters

It enables efficient access to areas that are otherwise difficult to reach, supporting activities such as bricklaying, plastering, painting, façade installation, structural repair, inspection, electrical work, and mechanical maintenance. By offering both vertical and horizontal mobility, scaffolding allows workers to perform tasks with improved accuracy, reduced fatigue, and enhanced overall project efficiency.
One of the defining features of scaffolding is its modular design. The system is composed of standardized components—vertical standards, horizontal ledgers, diagonal braces, base jacks, couplers, planks, guardrails, and toe boards—that can be assembled into a wide variety of configurations. This flexibility allows scaffolding to adapt to different building shapes, heights, and architectural complexities. Whether used for residential construction, commercial towers, industrial plants, bridges, tunnels, or restoration of historic monuments, scaffolding can be tailored to meet the specific access and safety requirements of each environment.
The materials used in scaffolding construction are chosen for high structural strength, reliability, and durability. Steel scaffolding provides robust load-bearing capacity suitable for heavy-duty construction and long-term exterior projects. Aluminum scaffolding offers lightweight convenience, making it easier to transport, assemble, and reposition, especially in indoor or multi-location tasks. All modern scaffolding systems employ corrosion-resistant finishes, precision-engineered joints, and high-strength locking mechanisms to ensure stable performance under demanding conditions.
Safety is the foundation of scaffolding design. Features such as non-slip working platforms, secure couplers, reinforced joints, guardrails, toe boards, safety gates, and stable base supports help prevent accidents and safeguard personnel at elevated heights. Scaffolding systems are designed to comply with international standards including OSHA regulations, EN12811 guidelines, and various national codes that define structural requirements, load capacities, and assembly procedures. Regular inspection, proper installation, and comprehensive worker training further contribute to maintaining a safe work environment and reducing risk throughout the project timeline.
Scaffolding also plays a major role in boosting productivity on job sites. By providing continuous working surfaces, it eliminates the need for constant repositioning associated with ladders or mobile lifts. Workers can move more freely, carry tools and materials more efficiently, and complete tasks with greater consistency and speed. Specialized scaffolding types such as suspended scaffolds, mobile scaffolding towers, cantilever systems, ringlock scaffolding, tube-and-coupler systems, and formwork-support scaffolds allow project teams to select solutions tailored to unique structural challenges. For example, suspended scaffolding provides vertical access for high-rise façade maintenance, while mobile scaffolding improves workflow in large interior spaces.
Beyond construction, scaffolding is used in shipbuilding, industrial inspections, refinery maintenance, event staging, public safety tunnels, and the installation of large-scale art or signage. Its ability to be rapidly assembled and dismantled makes it a valuable tool for projects with tight schedules or frequent location changes. Many modern systems are designed for long-term reuse, supporting sustainability goals by reducing material waste and improving cost efficiency for contractors.
Overall, scaffolding serves as a foundational element within the global construction and maintenance industries. Its combination of structural strength, modular adaptability, safety performance, and operational efficiency makes it indispensable for projects of all sizes. As architectural designs continue to advance and safety regulations become more stringent, scaffolding technology evolves alongside them, providing reliable support for workers and ensuring the successful completion of complex building and engineering tasks
Scaffolding provides safe access for construction and maintenance, supporting workers, tools, and materials at height.
